Hello! I am Melody the designer of Lap of Luxury. I've always enjoyed crafts and my mother taught me to sew when I was a young teenage girl. I fought it and didn't understand why it was a big deal I learn, but over time I really started to enjoy it and now I am so grateful I can. Soon I wanted to learn how to do other crafts. So I taught myself how to crochet and started making scarves, bags and blankets while in high school. After high school, I went to college and through my college years I found it hard to find the time to crochet. I studied English and was blessed to get a teaching job soon after graduation. A few years ago, I started to notice a lot of crochet accessories in retail stores and thought, I could make that. So I did. I posted some pictures of myself wearing one of my hats on my blog and people went crazy. I was told many times that I should sell them. My mom then told me about Etsy. I figured I didn't have anything to lose, so I posted a few items up on Etsy and a few weeks later I made my first sale. I am so happy that I have been able to share my designs with people all over the world.
