One being when we first moved into our home. We explored our yard and I saw this handsome tree that stood tall and strong in our backyard. My immediate thought? Let's put up a tire swing! I always wanted one as a kid. My cousins had one, which we played on throughout numerous summers as a child.
So when did we put up the tire swing you ask? Well, it never happened. Let's think of the many excuses why.. 1. Charlie had a funky schedule and was never home on the weekends to help make this child dream happen... 2. I could have asked someone else to help, but didn't want to bother them.. 3. At times I just forgot about it.. and the list goes on.
Just a few months ago I thought walking Peanut in the back... this is the summer of the tire swing. We're going to make it happen!.. Well, summer is almost over and you're going to ask, "When will this thing happen?" Not anytime soon.
As you can see from the pictures below there was a bad windstorm and the strong branch that I've gazed at time and time again wasn't as strong as we thought. I think how lucky I am not to have put that tire swing on the tree. Who would have thought the life of the tree was not very well. Things happen for a reason. Sometimes, putting our dreams on the back burner.. is not such a bad thing. ♥
